My first travel as a backpacker was in Sri Lanka 5 years ago. It was an incredible adventure and from that moment I always travel with my backpack. Probably, the most important thing I learned from my backpacker experiece is that we need little things to live, so you can apply backpacking to every day life. I think thaht everyoune shoul try backpacking at least once in his life, because in many cases it actually become a true life-style. Here you are my 10 reasons why backpacking is awesome, I hope you'll help you to start your adventure!
- Everything you own is on your back – the freedom this brings is incredible.
- Backpacking is about adventure and independence.
- It’s your awesome opportunity to lose yourself and push your limits.
- You’ll gather stories to tell for the rest of your lifetime.
- Backpacking is a lifestyle not just one trip.
- Change your itinerary a little. Or a lot. The affordability and spontaneity of backpacking allow for lengthy and flexible getaways.
- Backpacking gives you the opportunity to travel and see a lot of the world on a budget. You might need to lower your usual living standards a bit with eating street food and sharing a dorm and bathroom with other people. But it is a great way to see different environments on a low costs.
- Backpackers tend to be more open minded. Due to the many experiences of many different cultures and events backpackers have a different view on life. They are more laid back since somehow they always made it through difficulties and dangerous situations. Once you are a backpacker you can't stop to be one. This lifestyle is addicting.
- Learn to appreciate the things you have. Sometimes we use to live with every facilities and comfort we need. Sometimes, we don´t value it.
- You learn that all you really need is a backpack (or yourself). One thing that backpacking has taught me is that I really need very little in life to be happy. I do not need a lot of material things or a stockpile of clothes. When I travel via backpack I am perfectly content with just the clothes on my back. When you backpack, you realize that your home can fit in a small bag.
