The Auditorio de Tenerife is an auditorium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Projected by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, it is located on the Avenue of the Constitution and next to the Atlantic Ocean in the southern part of the port of the city.
The auditorium connects the city to the ocean and creates a unique urban landmark. The building is characterized by the dramatic sweep of its roof. Rising off the base like a crashing wave, the roof soars to a height of 58 meters over the main auditorium before curving downward and narrowing to a point
Construction began in 1997 and was completed in 2003. The auditorium was inaugurated on 26 September of that year in the presence of Felipe de Borbón, Prince of Asturias.
